Still Love Paperbacks
My quest to save the planet has led me to have all my magazines and newsletters trapped within the screen of my tablet. Things seem to have gone well for the past couple of months and I must admit that I love having the entire year's worth of Evo, SuperStreet or Import Tuner issues in that little tablet of mine.
Of course, that would not be possible with a paperback because nobody in the right frame of mind would walk around with more than a couple of copies in their backpack.
Nevertheless, I am starting to realise how much I miss flipping those pages and appreciating the pictorials in a hard copy. Somehow, it's just not the same. In the e-book version, the articles do not seem as exciting as the font size is never correct, I do not appreciate the fact that I cannot smell the prints and I obviously can't tell if I'm even halfway through each issue. As a matter of fact, no matter how good the digital resolutions claim to be, it's just not as clear! Bottom line, the whole e-magazine experience is not one bit as satisfying no more.
I'm not sure if it's just me but I don't think I can develop an online relationship with a woman so it's obvious that my e-magazines aren't really working out for me.
This evening, I walked into the bookstore and had a look at the September issue of Evo. Yes, I have already read it but somehow, having the physical magazine in my hand just made the whole experience more complete.
Perhaps this would have crossed the minds of those whole struggle between going hybrid or gasoline? As much as I love mother nature, I would still have gotten the gasoline for performance but a hybrid for the family. But if I were to choose only one? Go figure... I love anything that puffs smoke and burns!
A tug-of-war between going "green" and "living the moment"...
